Adele returned to her palace at the right time. Having all the maids away, she roughly took off the dress and tossed it into a corner.

“Haaaa….”

She took a deep breath and tried to exhale slowly, but her seething chest did not subside. The look in her eyes through her messy hair was ferocious. Adele clenched both of her fists so hard that the tingling sensation of her nails stabbed her skin ran through peripheral nerves.

The queen was in an enclosed space without a single wind entered, but her dark hair began fluttering in the air as if dancing in waves.

The candles that lit up the dimly lit room flickered in the turbulent air, and the window rattled and made a sound.

Adele let out a sneer. A dress that was too small to wear.

“Diane Poitiers.”

When that slender woman came to her mind, Adele smiled and covered her eyes with her hand. After her eerie laughter that had continued for a while subsided, Adele got up and poured a drink into her glass. As the amber liquor filled the glass, she then drank it in one breath. Her throat was beating hot as if she drunk fire, but nothing compared to her chest, which was boiling like lava.

“Right. Let’s say that’s the case with Diane Poitiers.”

What was more disgraceful and incomprehensible was Karl Ulrich.

“If he think he couldn’t live without her, then he should make Diane Poitiers as a queen. What kind of unfortunate romance fantasies does he have? A king riding a white horse who saves a woman incrisis? Does he fantasize this? Is he a pervert?”

Adele muttered with a ferocious face. If her nanny were with her, she would have been able to release her anger by pouring out words. But eventually, Adele drank two more glasses in succession. Three glasses of Echmont moonshine, which was famous for poisoning. When she drank it undiluted, she felt dizzy as if the world spinning, still, Adele diligently took off the golden crown of the royal reassure, took off her shoes, and climbed onto the bed. The beautiful ceiling turned around and around.

“What? Approve my lover? That’s amazing. He’s a very fair person. Love? Lover he said.”

A sincere smirk appeared on Adele’s face. Love. love, what was that even about?

“Adelaide, think about it. Think.”

[‘whoever has will receive and has an abundance of it. From the one who does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.’]

It was a word she had always neglected because she had so much.

[‘act like you always have. Even if the day comes when the things in your hands are gone, keep your mind straight and open your eyes wide. Do not let your shoulders hang down, and keep wearing it. Don’t be humble when you have nothing. People always notice it like ghost.’]

Adelaide raised her eyes fiercely as she repeated the words of her deceased father.

There was a slang phrase ‘tasting the water’. It meant when someone went into a group of people for the first time, they tend to struggle to understand its culture and had themselves figure out the system in that group.

Adele was going to do the same. Even though she was the princess of Gottrov, Echmont was in a completely different world, so in honesti she had planned to spend at least half a year quietly. But because what happened yesterday, she abandoned that idea.

“Who is the current general manager of the Imperial Palace?”

“Yes?”

“General manager. I heard you refer it by that word.”

“The general manager position is currently vacant.”

“Vacant?”

“Yes.”

“Still there must be a person who manage… Is the Countess Diane Poitiers the manager?”

“Yes, it is.”

“Then wo is the former general manager?”

When the maid glanced at her and didn’t give her a proper answer, Adele smiled and leaned over to them. “Do you think I’m asking something I don’t know?”

“It was Countess Hannah Giggs.”

Adele nodded her head in response to the prompt reply. “Bring her here now. Tell her politely that I want to meet her.”

Hearing those words, the maid’s faces turned white. It was because the one who sent Hannah Giggs out was Diane Poitier with the king on her back. But the queen did not overthrow her order, so they had no choice but to send someone to Countess Giggs. Like rhinoceros, the queen gave more orders without hesitation.

“Bring the royal palace law booklets. From the old to the latest version.”

After a while.

Adele did not read the royal palace act, but looked at the kings’ timeline. The timeline on the front page of the series was full of laws that were amended or enacted at the time, and one person overwhelmingly revised and enacted many laws, even occupying one page.

“What the hell is this dog fight?”

The law on management of the Echmont royal palace was even called the ‘ragged law’. It was said that it was the result of repeated fights between the king and queen who had bad relationships in the past, over the authority to manage the palace. For example, the queen has the power to issue personnel appointments, but the queen must obtain approval to cancel employment must be obtained from the king. And regarding the residence of royal palace, the queen had the right to approve it. There was even a provision that the king had the right to choose the wallpaper of the palace where the king lived. It was said that the previous queen was angry after looking the booklet, and saying “it’s just a fight, what a nuisance!” Then under this circumstances, the successive king delegated the authority to manage the palace to the queen, so the most powers could to the queen.

“The current king delegates the authority to Diane Poitiers, not me.”

Adele mumbled bitterly while loofked the booklet to the page she was reading.

“But i’m glad that the queen’s unique authority is granted at the same time as when the queen’s crowned.”

A queen had a lot of work to do. And because it was virtually impossible to do all that alone, it was said that the previous queen appointed a close aide as the general manager of the royal palace to manage it efficiently. Mrs. Hannah Giggs, the woman Adele called, was the general manager of the royal palace appointed by the previous queen.

After a while, the maid opened the door and announced that there was a visitor.

Of course, Adele thought it would be Mrs. Hannah Giggs, but apparently the visitor was an unexpected person.
