That afternoon, 12 knights were stationed at Adeline’s palace. It was said that they would come to work in groups of six in shifts. Anyone could tell that these knights were lazy and lacking in skills just by looking at them.

“Are they from Cesare?” Adeline asked Richard Selmore who brought them to report.

After a long hesitation, he forced himself to open his mouth. “The head maid of the main palace has temporarily assigned manpower to the empty position….”

“The head maid must have risen to great heights. She could drag in the outer wall defense personnel as they pleased.”

The raid that happened last night would not be reported to Cesare or her father. There was a good chance that would happen unless she wanted to speak in person.

Adeline looked at Richard’s subtly hardened face. He’s Cesare’s man, so naturally, he would run to report to Cesare,

but it seemed that an obstacle called the head maid had intervened.

Things were turning funny.

Cesare’s mother, the empress of this country, really hated Adeline. Although she didn’t want to abuse or directly kill her, It could even be said that she was the woman who hated Adeline the most in this imperial city. The head maid, who was like the hand and foot of the empress, who also shared the same sentiment with the empress, must have been delighted to hear that an assassin had appeared at Adeline’s palace. She intercepted Richard’s move by selecting only idiots who seemed unlikely to be able to catch alley gangsters, let alone assassins, and sent them to Adeline’s palace.

So, sooner or later, they are all going to die soon, right? Adeline shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know if you heard the news, but my palace was attacked. If it weren’t for the Lion King who happened to be walking through the forest, everyone here would be dead. All of them were well-trained professional assassins.”

The twelve knights looked at each other with anxious faces.

“There were ten assassin’s bodies found on the first day, so there is a high chance there would be more in the future. I heard they use posinones swords, could climb up walls, and even shoot crossbows from afar. You must be the talented people who are spicually selected by the head maid, right. I guess assassins like that are no big deal, right? Huh huh…. I feel relieved.”

If you don’t run away, you will die. Adeline kindly gave a warning.

After the knights, with their faces looking very pale and very frightened, retreated together with Richard, the maids came to the drawing room.

Surprisingly, a letter came from the emperor. A middle-aged maid from the Emperor’s palace handed her a letter in a golden box.

I didn’t expect to hear back.’

The emperor seemed to want something from her.

[My Beloved Daughter, Adeline.]

There was an outpouring of adoration in the letter. It was like a father who truly loved his daughter.

Then the letter became more and more irrelevant. He confessed that there was no day when he was not heartbroken while she was sold to the enemy country and that he thanked God for her safe return. Now that she was back in her fertile homeland, all she had to do was to enjoy her life to her heart’s content.

[The King of the Desert is visiting our homeland. It seems like you and him could be good friends.]

This was the main point of the letter. All those words were needed just to get to one point.

It seemed like a friendly suggestion, but it was actually nothing short of an order. The emperor knows that Adeline was attacked several times on her way back and that she received help from the Lion King. he probably also knew that when she was imprisoned in the annex of Cesare’s palace, the Lion King came to visit her.

It was beyond belief that the emperor had to sugarcoat his words just to order her to seduce the Lion King by any means possible.

For a second, it looked like a harsh curse would come out from Adeline’s lips, but she just smiled gracefully. She gave her thanks to the emperor’s maid who stared at her with sharp eyes.

“Thank you for coming here. Tell His Majesty that I do not know what to do with His grace. It looks like I’ll have to stay up all night to choose the sentences for my answer. I’ll send my reply in a few days.”

“I understand, Princess.”

Now it was time to get ready to go out. Because she was going to be a good daughter who listened to her father.

Adeline smiled sinisterly and turned her body. Her maids looked at her with expectant eyes. They must have thought she was going to invite the Lion King, but they guessed it wrong.

Adeline took off her gown and held it in her hand. “Send a messenger to the Lion King. Tell him ‘I’ll wait for you at the hotel, so please come quickly’. And you, bring me a dress and a coat for me to wear. I won’t be returning to the palace today, so make sure to pack enough underwear.”

Silent screams filled the room. The maids threw away their usual elegant masks when Adeline proudly announced that she would meet the Lion King at a hotel and return after spending the night with him.

“Well, princess, you mean…”

“Call me Your Highness Vita. What’s up with sudden ‘princess’?”

“It can’t be, hotel, you mean….”

“Should I give you a report of what I’m going to do with him all night?”

The maids were creaking like a broken clockwork while helping her prepare to go out.

After the news spread out, Richard appeared as an escort, and when he was told that she was going to the most expensive hotel in the capital, he curled his lips and cursed.
